Photograph & Writing Contests

Writing Contest


Tell your story in a short story format (2,000 words).  Maybe write about an event that had a major impact on you and/or your family, or share your family’s history and how your family’s traditions, cultures, and community helped mold the person you are today.  Writing your story provides your family with a piece of family history that will live on for generations to come.

All writing pieces must be emailed to Katie Monteiro by February 20.  Please refer to the writing contest guidelines on the GFWC website or contact Katie at or Joanne Cuomo at

Creative Writing Workshop

Join a fun group to participate in techniques, prompts, and tips to get started for the SAWC Creative Writing Contest. You might even learn something about yourself.
