Community Service Programs

What We Do

GFWC has five Community Service Programs to build upon the Federation's collective impact. Each committee chair coordinates with organizations and agencies in the community, channels volunteer needs to club members, and networks with each other to build friendships. SAWC has added three categories: Social and Standing Committees.

Be a Power for Good

SAWC members have volunteered more than 40,000 hours collectively, and given over $35,000 of in-kind resources to assist and support the efforts of a wide variety of programs such as*:

  • Apartment furnishings for a Salem resident

  • Author Events

  • Caregivers Program

  • Children’s books for the Salem caregiver recognition

  • Cookie Hugs for Caregivers during the Holidays

  • Flower Hugs Program

  • Greater Salem Chamber’s Wreath Stroll

  • Monthly meal for Family Promise in Nashua

  •  Outfit bathrooms for Brigid’s House of Hope

  • Pinwheel Gardens for Child Abuse Awareness
